What it checks, area by area

Each area says where it runs. Checks in your browser stay in your browser until you click.

In your browser

On-page SEO in one click

The title and meta description with their lengths, the headings outline, the canonical tag, robots and noindex tags, indexability, hreflang and the page language. The three fixes that matter most come first.

  • Title and meta description lengths against what search results show
  • One H1 check and the full H1 to H6 outline, with skipped levels flagged
  • Canonical tag, robots meta and noindex, with a plain verdict on indexability
  • hreflang and the lang attribute, read from the page

A fix list you can work through

Every finding becomes a task with steps, such as Make the meta description longer or Add alt text to 3 images.

  • Draft titles and descriptions, labelled as drafts you check before you use them
  • Mark items done; the marks stay for that address in this browser
  • Copy the whole list as a checklist, or download it
  • Nothing is changed on the page. You make the edits in your own site
In your browser, broken links on click

Links and images

Every link on the page, counted and grouped, and every image with its size, format and alt text.

  • Internal, external and nofollow links, with anchors and domains
  • Broken-link and redirect check when you click it
  • Highlight links on the page, and export them to CSV
  • Image size, format, lazy loading, missing or weak alt text, and oversized files
In your browser

Schema and social previews

The structured data on the page, checked, and a preview of how the page looks when someone shares it.

  • JSON-LD and Microdata found on the page, with a tree view and checks
  • The rich results that the markup can earn in search
  • Schema generators for common page types
  • Open Graph and Twitter Card previews, image checks and ready-made tags
In your browser

Local SEO

The business details on the page, read the way a search engine reads them.

  • Name, address and phone (NAP) read from the page, with a consistency check
  • Opening hours and LocalBusiness structured data
  • Map and profile links, with a local checklist
  • A schema generator for the business details
Optional, Google access New in 0.4.0

Google Business Profile tile

When you manage a business on Google, the extension adds a tile to the "Your business on Google" panel. It is read in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere. It works when Google's interface is in English.

OptimizeA checklist of profile items, ordered by impact: description length, categories, hours, services, photos, booking link, social profiles and the last post. Mark done is kept per business.
ReviewsHow many reviews wait for a reply, three reply templates for 5, 4 and 1 to 3 stars, and your review link to copy.
ChangesWhat changed since your last visit: name, category, hours, phone, website and address. The first visit saves a baseline.
Measured on your visit

Speed and technical SEO

How the page loads on your visit, and what it is made of.

  • Time to first byte, LCP and CLS, measured while you look at the page
  • Page weight and the number of resources
  • HTTP status, headers and the redirect chain, on click
  • Page technology, read from the page
In your browser, and on click

  • Whether the site has an llms.txt file
  • Raw HTML against the rendered text, so you see what a bot reads without scripts
  • With a signed-in account and a confirmed email: the AI brand check, with a daily allowance
On click, on Rankfinity servers

  • A share link for the page report, which expires in 30 days
  • Some server checks have daily limits, shown before you run them
Optional, you turn it on

A summary above the results and a check beside each one. Chrome asks for google.com access only when you turn it on.

  • A summary above the results: AI Overview, featured snippet, People also ask, ads and where your site ranks
  • Per result: title and description length against what search cuts, rich results
  • Optional, when you allow reading sites: answer time, word count and structured data of each result page

FAQ

Questions about the Chrome extension

Is the Rankfinity Chrome extension free?

Yes. Reading the page is free and needs no account. The Rankfinity audit is free too: without an account it shows every issue title, and a free account shows the details of every one. A free account also unlocks the AI brand check, with a daily allowance.

What does the SEO Chrome extension check?

The title and meta description with their lengths, the headings outline, canonical, robots and noindex tags, structured data types, images without alt text, internal, external and nofollow links, word count, Open Graph tags and local business markup. On click it also checks AI crawler access and the response headers.

How does it read the page?

It reads the page that is already open in your tab: the code your browser has already loaded. It does not crawl the site and makes no extra request to it for the basic checks, so results appear in about a second.

Does it send my browsing to Rankfinity?

No. Page content is never sent. The page address goes to Rankfinity only when you click Run audit or Run free AI check, and the panel fetches its settings when it opens. The Google results bar looks up Domain Rating by domain name only. The extension does not keep or send your browsing history.

What if a page needs a login or blocks bots?

The extension then audits what your browser saw and labels it As seen in your browser. Anything it could not measure, such as the response headers, is marked Not measured instead of being guessed.

Does it work on Google results?

Yes, if you turn it on. A bar above Google results sums up the page (AI Overview, featured snippet, People also ask, ads and where your site ranks) and marks each result with its title and description length, rich results. It works without an account, and Chrome asks for google.com access only when you turn it on.

Do I need an account?

No, for the on-page checks, the fix list, the Google results bar and the Business Profile tile. A free account adds the details of every audit issue, draft fixes for all of them, the AI brand check and rank tracking in Rankfinity.

Can I get the full report by email?

Yes. Enter your address in the Audit view, then confirm it from the email we send. We send the report only after you confirm, and the confirmation page shows it too.

Does the Business Profile tile change my profile?

No. The tile reads your profile from the Google page in your browser and shows what to improve. Its buttons only open Google's own controls; you make any change on Google yourself.

When can I install it?

The Chrome Web Store listing is not live yet. When it is, the Add to Chrome button on this page installs the extension. Until then you can create a free Rankfinity account to use the web app.
