Make your services easy to find
A clear list of service pages with a one-line summary gives AI assistants a quick map of what you offer and where.
Generate an llms.txt file from your homepage, grouped by section, ready to upload to your site.
01What it does
llms.txt is a short Markdown file at the root of a website that tells AI assistants what the site is about and which pages explain it best. The format was proposed at llmstxt.org: a title, a one-line summary, and lists of links grouped under headings. It sits next to robots.txt, at an address such as northgate-plumbing.example/llms.txt.
Writing the file by hand means collecting your main pages, naming them and putting them in the right format. The generator does the first draft for you. It reads your home page, takes the site name and description from it, follows the links in your navigation and content, and groups the pages into sections such as Services and products, Articles and About.
The result is plain text you can copy with one click. Edit it, then upload it as llms.txt at the root of your site.
The site name comes from your home page title and the summary from its meta description.
Links are sorted into sections by the first folder of their address.
Images, PDFs and pages such as cart, checkout, login and admin are left out.
Privacy, terms and cookie pages go into an Optional section at the end, as the format suggests.
If your home page has no meta description, you are told to add a one-sentence summary.
02How to use it
Enter the domain only, for example northgate-plumbing.example. We start from its home page over https.
Our crawler reads the home page, collects its internal links and builds the file. This takes a few seconds.
If a warning appears, such as a missing summary, fix it in the text before you publish. A good summary is one plain sentence about what you do and where.
Rename sections, remove pages that do not explain your business, give links clearer names and add short descriptions after a colon. The best llms.txt is short and specific.
Save the text as llms.txt and upload it to the top folder of your site, so it opens at your-domain/llms.txt. On WordPress you can use a file manager or an SEO plugin that supports it.
03How it works
Stage 1
The home page is fetched and its title, description and links are read.
Stage 2
Files, duplicates and private paths are removed; up to 40 pages remain.
Stage 3
Pages are sorted into sections by the first folder of their address.
Stage 4
The Markdown file is written: title, summary, then each section with up to 10 links.
We fetch your home page with our own crawler and parse its HTML. The page title becomes the H1 of the file, cut before separators such as a pipe or a dash so that only the site name is left. The meta description becomes the summary, written as a blockquote under the title, as the llms.txt format expects.
Next we collect the internal links on the home page. Fragments, duplicates, files such as images and PDFs, and private paths such as cart, checkout, login, account and admin are skipped. The anchor text of each link becomes its name in the file. If the home page answers with an error code instead of a normal page, it is left out of the list.
Each address is placed in a section by the first folder of its path. Blog, news, articles, guides and resources become Articles; services, products and shop become Services and products; about, team and contact become About; FAQ, help, support and docs become Help; privacy, terms, cookies and legal go to Optional. Any other folder becomes a section with its own name.

A clear list of service pages with a one-line summary gives AI assistants a quick map of what you offer and where.
List the articles that explain your topic best, instead of leaving an assistant to guess from the whole site.
Generate a draft for each client site in seconds, tidy it up and add it to the launch checklist.
For product sites, the first draft gives you the structure; you then add links to the documentation pages that matter.
06Tips
One sentence: what you do, for whom and where. Avoid slogans.
A focused list of your most useful pages is better than every page on the site.
Replace menu labels such as Read more with names that say what the page covers.
A colon and a short description help an assistant pick the right page.
llms.txt does not replace them. Search engines still use robots.txt and the sitemap.
Regenerate or edit the file after you add services or move pages.

A heading the llms.txt format reserves for links an assistant can skip. Privacy, terms and cookie pages are placed there.
